I'm Slava Derzhaev.

I'm a US-based product designer who can code. I work across different platforms, including web, mobile, and VR. I've launched an educational app as a solo founder and co-founded a fintech startup. I have a strong background in data analysis and business strategy, developed during my time as a management consultant at Bain.

With over 5 years of experience in product design and strategy, I've had the opportunity to work on some exciting projects:

  • I've rebranded the entire website, developed a web design system, optimized the purchase flow, and created a captivating VR trial experience for a VR baseball startup.

  • I developed and implemented a multimillion-dollar customer experience improvement program for one of the world's biggest airlines.

  • I led all UX/UI work at Rupt, a startup I co-founded, overseeing its concept from idea to reality and optimizing its purchase flow for revenue generation.

  • I founded, developed, and launched an app that helps people develop critical thinking skills.

My highly strategic and analytical approach allows me to find unique angles for designing user experiences. I have extensive experience in building products from ground up, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and optimizing key metrics through testing and experimentation.

I am inspired by Dieter Rams' design philosophy. I like simple, intuitive things that just work. I'm also a firm believer in building out of first principles, which means that I always need to understand why things work.
